Postdoctoral Fellow Positions
Structural Biophysics Laboratory, NCI
(Frederick), NIH
The
Macromolecular Section of the Structural Biophysics Laboratory (SBL),
Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI),
National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human
Services (DHHS), seeks to recruit two postdoctoral fellows who are well
trained in solution nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and/or in
bio-macromolecular structural biology.
Our research program includes a combination of NMR
structural biology and other biophysical methods, including small angle
scattering. We investigate systems important in cancer biology,
and there is a particular focus on biologically relevant
complexes. This research program offers an exciting opportunity
for a highly motivated individual who seeks a career in structural
biology/NMR spectroscopy.
Postdoctoral appointment is for up to 5 years and
the fellowship stipend starts from $46,200 per annum depending on
experience and qualifications, plus medical insurance for the fellow
and the immediate family members. US Citizenship is NOT
required. Applicants should send CV and list of references to:
Dr. R. Andrew Byrd, Room 120/Bldg 538, NCI (Frederick), NIH, Frederick,
MD 21702-1201, or via email to rabyrd@ncifcrf.gov.
The intramural NCI research covers enormous breadth
of disciplines from cancer biology to HIV virology, from clinical
science to fundamental sciences of biology, chemistry and
biophysics. As an integral part of cancer research, SBL is
focused on cancer structural biology and chemistry at the molecular and
atomic levels using a variety of biophysical means, especially NMR
spectroscopy. SBL is equipped with an array of biophysical
instruments, including LC-MS, LC-qTOF-MS, UV, CD spectroscopy, ITC,
DSC, and light scattering. The SBL NMR facility hosts 500, 600,
700 and 800 MHz spectrometers, four of which are equipped with
cryogenic probes, and is a member of NIH 900 MHz spectrometer
consortium.
DHHS, NIH and NCI are
