The
lab of Chuck Sanders at Vanderbilt University has an immediate opening
for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct solution NMR-based structural
studies of membrane proteins. Possible projects are to
characterize the structure of diacylglycerol kinase in complex with its
substrates and to study the structure and interactions of the
transmembrane C-terminal domain of the human amyloid precursor protein
(see 2008 BIOCHEMISTRY paper—currently available on-line).
The Vanderbilt Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy
Laboratory currently includes an 800, two 600s, and two 500 MHz NMR
spectrometers. Three are equipped with cryoprobes, including the
800. Viable candidates will have previous experience with
NMR-based structural biology and an interest in applying solution NMR
methods to challenging integral membrane protein systems.
