Post-doctoral Research in the UNC Metabolomics Lab
University of North Carolina, USA.
The
University of North Carolina Metabolomics Laboratory has an immediate
opening for a recent Ph.D. This position will focus on the
application of NMR based metabolomics to translational research
projects. Current projects span the translational research
spectrum from cell studies, to animal models through clinical
trials. The major focus areas of the laboratory include, cancer,
drug induced hepatotoxicity and environmental toxicants. The
Laboratory is affiliated with the newly established Translational and
Clinical Sciences (TraCS) Institute at UNC along with the Center for
Environmental Health and Susceptibility. The highly collaborative
environment is ideal for researchers who have excellent communication
skills and can work both independently and in cooperation with multiple
investigators.
Laboratory instrumentation includes a dedicated
Varian 600MHz NMR equipped with probes for the study of both biofluids
and intact tissues. Access to higher field spectrometers
including the 950MHz spectrometer at the North Carolina Research Campus
is available. A Ph.D. in physical or life sciences with
demonstrated expertise NMR is required. Experience with Varian
NMR systems along with standard NMR processing/analysis software and
multivariate statistics is preferred.
