Rutgers, Department of Chemistry and Chemical
Biology
Piscataway, New Jersey
Postdoctoral
positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Jean Baum in
the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University.
Specific research projects include (1) Exploring the mechanism of
protein misfolding or amyloid formation in Parkinson’s disease by using
NMR and other biophysical techniques (2) Determining the structure and
dynamics of globular protein/collagen complexes to understand the basis
for protein/collagen recognition and disease using solution NMR.
Candidates must have experience in biomolecular NMR and molecular
biology.
Our laboratory has abundant access to state of the
art NMR spectrometers including an 800 MHz Varian, a 700 MHz Bruker
with cryoprobe, a 600 MHz Varian with cryoprobe and a 600 MHz Bruker
spectrometer. The projects are interdisciplinary and
include other techniques such as fluorescence and TEM or AFM as well as
extensive collaborations with computational chemists.
Interested candidates should send a CV, list of
publications and three letters of reference to jean.baum@rutgers.edu or to
Jean Baum, Dept. of Chemistry, Piscataway New Jersey 08854-0939. Rutgers University is an Equal Opportunity
