Job
Duration: 1-year contract, with the possibility of further
extension
A research fellow position in structural biology is
available at the Department of Biological Sciences, National University
of Singapore. The main objective is to study the structure function
relationship of proteins mainly from signaling pathway.
Applicant should have a PhD degree in the related
field (preferably in NMR spectroscopy), should be independent in
determining the protein structures, and willing to learn protein
crystallization. Further the candidate is expected to be
specialized in techniques for structural biology studies, which
includes not limited to the following:
- Cloning, sub-cloning, over-expression, purification (includes all
the chromatography techniques) and characterization.
- Experience in NMR experiments, data analysis and solving the
structure and refinement using CNS.
- Familiar with all the structural biology softwares, and
demonstrated skills in the structure determination and
refinement.
- Structure based mutagenesis and followed by in-vitro functional
studies using biophysical methods such as Isothermal Titration
Calorimetric (ITC), Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and so on.
The candidate
should
be capable of working independently.
Successful candidates can expect a competitive
salary and benefit package.
Highly motivated and proactive individuals are
encouraged to send their CV and full contacts of at least three
