A permanent position as associate professor in
protein NMR spectroscopy is available starting from August 1, 2010 or
as soon as possible thereafter. The intention with the position is to
strengthen NMR structure/dynamics research activities within studies of
insoluble proteins. The NMR activities complement strong
activities within structural biology, protein chemistry, organic
chemistry, and biophysics.
The Faculty expects the successful candidate to build up an
internationally strong research activity within liquid/solid-state
protein NMR spectroscopy in proximity to already existing activities
within biological solid-state NMR, e.g., in the area of membrane
proteins and protein aggregates/fibrils and their interactions. In
addition, the new Associate Professor will contribute to teaching at
the same level as other senior research staff within the field.
Applicants must have a strong record (including earned Ph.D. and
completed postdoctoral fellowship) within experimental protein NMR
research and structure/dynamics analysis, as well as documented
teaching qualifications. Additional expertise within NMR metabonomics
and data interpretation will be welcome.
The Department of Chemistry hosts a Faculty of 32 assistant, associate,
and full professors, 37 technical and administrative assistants and
more than 500 students, and is the strongest chemistry department in
Denmark, with considerable number of Centers of Excellence. iNANO is an
internationally renowned interdisciplinary research center with a very
large number of excellent groups in physics, chemistry, molecular
biology, biology, and medicine. These groups collaborate on
interdisciplinary nanoscience/technology research and education.
