Protein NMR Post-doctoral
Position at Pfizer-Cambridge
The protein NMR group at Pfizer in Cambridge, MA has
an opening for a highly motivated post doctoral fellow to continue a
successful collaborative study with the Pfizer Vaccines group.
Protein NMR is part of the Biotherapeutic Engineering and Production
(BEP) group and focuses on the structural characterization of important
biologic molecules. The current post doctoral project involves
structural determination of proteins expressed on the surface of
Neisseria meningitidis, in specific the subfamily A of LP 2086
family. LP 2086 is also known as Factor H binding protein, and we
are interested in learning how subfamily A proteins interact with
Factor H as well as bactericidal monoclonal
antibodies.
The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in
Chemistry, Biophysics
or related fields and have demonstrated experience in the area of
biomolecular NMR and protein production. This includes protein
expression/purification, data acquisition and analysis of
multi-dimensional NMR data, and interpretation of NMR data for protein
structure determination. Knowledge of pulse sequence
implementation and design is also desirable but not required. The
candidate should also possess excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
Our laboratory holds a Bruker 600 and 700 MHz
spectrometers with
cryoprobes and autosamplers, and a Tecan platform for automated sample
preparation. As part of BEP, we work closely and interact with
other groups, including X-ray crystallography, computational
chemistry and biophysics.
The position is available immediately, and all
qualified
candidates are encouraged to apply. Please send your CV with
